Al Rehab Oasis

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Currently under construction in Riyadh, Al Rehab Oasis is a contemporary workplace designed by Giò Forma in collaboration with Syden. The project reinterprets traditional Saudi courtyard architecture, transforming the courtyard into the social and spatial heart of the working environment.

The project draws from the architectural language of Riyadh, where shaded thresholds, internal courtyards and protected outdoor spaces respond to climate while supporting everyday social life. These elements are translated into a workplace designed around movement, encounters and a continuous relationship with the landscape.

At the centre of the project, the courtyard becomes an active shared environment. Planted areas, shaded paths and gathering spaces create different opportunities for working, meeting and pausing throughout the day. Architecture and landscape develop as a single spatial system, connecting interior functions with open air spaces.

Framed views guide movement through the building, revealing the courtyard and its vegetation from different perspectives. The experience changes according to the position of the viewer, creating a sequence of visual connections between workspaces, circulation areas and the surrounding landscape.

Light plays a central role in defining the atmosphere. Screens, overhangs and architectural openings generate shifting patterns of light and shade, responding to the intensity of Riyadh’s climate and giving each space a distinct rhythm throughout the day.

Materiality reinforces the connection with the city and its environment. Warm, mineral tones establish continuity with the local landscape, while contemporary details introduce precision and lightness within the overall composition.

Through courtyard traditions, landscape and environmental responsiveness, Rehab Oasis creates a contemporary workplace shaped around collective life, where work, nature and everyday encounters come together.
