Gianna Nannini | Waldbühne Berlin
Berlin, Germany, 2026
At Berlin’s Waldbühne, Gianna Nannini celebrated fifty years of music and live performance through a concert conceived as a journey across the different moments, identities and atmospheres of her career.
Giò Forma developed the creative direction for this special celebration, translating Gianna’s musical and personal evolution into a visual narrative shaped by light, architecture and transformation. The project marks the beginning of the collaboration between Gianna Nannini and Giò Forma, opening a new creative dialogue between music and performance.
The visual narrative begins with a fracture. Cracks of light emerge from the darkness and gradually fill with gold, introducing transformation as the first gesture of the show. Rupture becomes revelation, establishing a recurring movement between breaking and becoming.
The performance unfolds through two distinct acts. The first enters a Neoclassical world of arches, symmetry and fragmented architectural forms. Its visual language evokes permanence, order and monumentality, while the spreading fractures begin to challenge that apparent stability. The past is presented as a living structure, open to reinterpretation and change.
The second act moves into Aura, a more fluid and metamorphic dimension. Forms soften, dissolve and transform, allowing memory and identity to remain in constant motion. The transition reflects the evolution of Gianna’s artistic language across fifty years, connecting different periods of her career within a single continuous experience.
Within the monumental scale of the celebration, the acoustic set creates a moment of intimacy. Piano and voice take centre stage beneath suspended chandeliers, leaving space for music, presence and memory. The lighting becomes softer and more concentrated, drawing the audience closer to the performer and revealing another register of the same story.
Across the concert, light acts as a narrative element, guiding each transition and connecting architecture, music and emotion. The stage evolves with Gianna’s story, transforming the celebration of her past into an image of identity in constant movement.
